The 2025 Global Symposium on Intelligent Livestock Equipment and Smart Farming was successfully held in Harbin, co-hosted by the Information Technology Branch of the Chinese Association of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine and the Livestock Engineering Branch of the Chinese Society of Agricultural Engineering. The conference focused on three core topics: “Intelligent Environmental Control,” “Precision Feeding,” and “Artificial Intelligence,” exploring cutting-edge technologies and industrial applications in livestock smart farming.
With the continuous integration and innovation of artificial intelligence, big data, and the Internet of Things, smart farming is significantly accelerating the modernization of global animal husbandry.
To promote the deep implementation of the “AI4AS (Artificial Intelligence for Animal Science)” initiative and foster new quality productivity, the symposium gathered renowned experts, leading enterprises, and practitioners from around the world. Key discussions centered on intelligent animal health sensing, smart farming equipment, and livestock big data mining, while also sharing advanced practices in smart ranch development from Northern Europe, Southern Hemisphere regions, and Asia.
As a leading enterprise in the field of smart livestock equipment, Big Herdsman, led by Dr. Li Xiusong, Dean of the Institute of Intelligent Animal Farming, participated in the conference, fully demonstrating its profound technical expertise and industry leadership in smart farming.
At the conference, Big Herdsman officially unveiled its “3.0 Precision Intelligent Sow Feeder,” which is built on three core capabilities: intelligent sensing, precision feed dispensing, and digital management. The system enables accurate identification of sow feeding behavior and individualized feeding, significantly improving efficiency and farming profitability while effectively addressing the challenges of traditional manual feeding such as high labor intensity, feed waste, and coarse management.
The launch of this product marks an important breakthrough in the digital and intelligent transformation of livestock equipment.
This symposium provided a high-level platform for collaboration among academia, industry, research, and practice, effectively advancing the sustainable development of China’s animal husbandry toward greater intelligence, eco-friendliness, and high quality.
